Drathians are an originally tribal race resulting from the evolution of Abyssals without the influence of their Cephalic Vines.

Origins[]

Drathians, unlike most species in the cosmos, can trace their origins to a single event in history, the Abyssal-Human conflict over planet DR-665. With their flagship crashing to the surface of the planet, the Abyssals were stranded without the influence of either their queen nor the Cephalic Vines controlling them. With the death of the Abyssal queen at the end of the Great War, the stranded Abyssals on DR-665 were forced to survive on their own. With centuries past, the Abyssals lost all semblance of their former technology, and were morphed into a new species all together, the Drathian.

Anatomy[]

Drathian anatomy and physiology is very similar to that of humans, so much that crossbreeds are actually possible.

Skin[]

The Drathian epidermis consists of layers almost identical to that of their Abyssal ancestors. However, time in the sun has encouraged the growth of chromacytes, special cells that produce pigment that give Drathian skin any colour on the entire spectrum. This seemingly has no purpose other than to attract mates of the opposite sex. Though it should be noted that skin colours do not seem to differ on either males or females.

Skeletal Structure[]

Pound for pound, Drathian bone is as durable as concrete. Much like human and Abyssal skeletons, Drathians have four limbs and an axial skeleton consisting of the vertebral column, the ribcage, and the skull. The phalanges on both the hands and the feet are slightly extended, the tips extruding from the flesh of the finger or toe into claws of compact bone. Teeth in Drathians are shark like in nature, sharp, triangular, and with serrated edges to better hold on to meat.

Muscles[]

Drathian muscle structure is again very similar to their counterparts in Abyssals, and the seemingly unrelated humans. Over time, however, Drathian mucles have grown especially strong in the limbs and heart, as everyday life as a tribal citizen on Drathia requires strength and endurance in swinging through trees or running in the brush. Drathian blood, which contains copper rather than iron, turns the muscles a deep blue colour.

Eyes[]

Drathians have eyes that are adapted to seeing in the dark, both that of space and the shadows of night. Normally, this would mean that any sort of sudden light change would have the capability to severly harm a Drathian's eyesight. This is prevented with a thin orange membrane atop of the eyes. The membrane both physically protects the eye, and helps in defending it against light change that would otherwise harm the optics.

Brain[]

The brain of the Drathian is perhaps the only structure that does not have any semblance to a human one. The brain is seperated into three lobe. The left lobe controlling the left side of the body, as well as emotion and creativity, while the right lobe controls the right side of the body in addition to logic and reasoning. The third lobe, occupying the occipital region, is mostly unused other than storing most memories. However, when stimulated with the signals of a Mind Flower, the occipital lobe is used to both send and recieve signals. Over time, Drathians have lost the ability to communicate with Abyssal Queens or Cephalic Vines. The structures to do so, though, are still intact. Should a Drathian Queen arise, other Drathians would indeed be able to communicate it.

Trivia[]

  • Drathians have skin and hair colours varying through the entire colour wheel.
  • Drathian DNA is hard coded to make the species incredibly loyal to other fellow Drathians.
  • Drathian teeth and claws are pound for pound equal in strength to concrete.
  • Due to their Abyssal origins, Drathians have the profound ability to easily adapt to new situations and tools.
